Abstract
Indian festivals are not only cultural and religious celebrations but
also significant economic drivers, especially for women entrepreneurs. This
paper explores the intersection of Indian festivals, women's entrepreneurship,
and economic empowerment. Through a critical analysis of existing literature,
case studies, and primary research, this study examines the myths, rituals, and
economic opportunities surrounding women-led businesses during Indian
festivals. The role of indigenous knowledge systems and the entrepreneurial
opportunities embedded within these festivals are analyzed. The study
identifies key areas where women entrepreneurs thrive during festival seasons,
such as handicrafts, food, textiles, and other small-scale industries,
highlighting the socio-cultural and economic dimensions of women’s
entrepreneurship in India.
