Influence of customers’ demographic factors on usage of digital banking services in public sector banks

Abstract
This study aims to investigate how demographic factors, including age, gender, education level, income, and occupation, influence the adoption and use of digital banking services provided by public sector banks. The growing digital transformation in banking necessitates a deeper understanding of customer behavior across demographic segments to improve service delivery and enhance customer satisfaction. Customers value the convenience and efficiency provided by digital platforms but express concerns over data security and the lack of personalized interaction compared to traditional banking. Additionally, the study highlights the importance of the demographical factors of customers' impact on digital banking services. The research concludes that while digital banking offers numerous benefits, banks must balance technological advancements with customer-centric strategies to maintain strong, loyal customer relationships. The findings reveal that key factors such as including age, gender, education level, income, occupation, influence the adoption and use of digital banking services significantly influence customer satisfaction in digital banking. Recommendations include investing in robust cybersecurity measures, enhancing user experience design, and providing tailored financial advice through digital channels to meet the diverse needs of customers effectively.
